chuckee, when I looked back at his voting record, which I have linked, it begins long before he ran for Governor. He had the courage to face down the CBC and while he isn’t a staunch conservative, in my opinion he has chosen the right issues, showing traditional values, to vote along with Republicans.

chuckee, no he is not a Herman Cain and never will be. He also isn’t running for office (but probably will one day). In the meantime if he can do anything for Romney-Ryan with his voting record to back him up, it’s a good thing.

What you want to review with Davis’ record is his votes when he represented an overwhelmingly black district. He became increasingly conservative when his district was gerrymandered to try to retain his seat.He lost. Then he became a bit more conservative when he knew he was running statewide for governor as a Dem to try to retain the black vote while attracting enough white votes to win. He lost. Then he made the switch to Republican. If you really want to determine if this guy is just another political whore without a core, check his votes when he represented an all black district before it was gerrymandered.Sure, I do not mind the national Republican ticket using him now but he is no Tim Scott of SC or Herman Cain. Both have been consistently principled conservatives.
