Tonight in Israel, war with Iran seems closer than ever. Top Iranian officials are threatening to annihilate Israel again. Senior Israeli officials are telling people to get their gas masks and prepare for the worst.

“With the US sending clear public signals to Israel that it is opposed to military action now against Iran, and a cacophonous debate on the matter in Israel, senior Iranian officials continue to threaten Israel with destruction,” reports the Jerusalem Post. “Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Wednesday that he was confidant ‘the fake Zionist (regime) will disappear from the landscape of geography,’ Iran’s Mehr News Agency reported.”

I wonder about the 30 days... If Israel attacks decissively enough, it may keep other Arab countries from jumping into the fray. Last night, as I read Khamenei: Zionist regime will disappear from map I couldn't help but wondering how much longer will Israel wait!

Israel must protect itself, my big concern is that, if the US is drawn into the conflict, will the American people rally around the Flag and President, ensuring President Obama’s re-election?

I’ve worried about that myself, but I think that the people who would take Zero seriously as CIC were going to vote for him anyway. My hope is that a large number of Americans would vote for someone who could set Iran back a couple hundred years.

I don't think a short non-nuclear war would set the Iranians back more than five years. To have a real change, I think that a regime change to a secular, free market government would be needed.

Most, if not all, the , to use the trem very loosely, of the people who voted for obama in ‘08 are going to vote for him in ‘12.

This is ALL BO’s doing. Israel likely feels alone in this and Iran knows we are spineless and will sit on our thumbs. What a disastrous situation.

I think the Israeli just cursed Israel and this prediction will be repeated in every history of the coming conflict.

Most? Think on CatholicVote.com, they are out to get the Catholic vote for Romney. And quite a few Jews are having buyer’s remorse. My favorite is the Associaton of Black Pastors (this may not be the correct name), they are trying to convince black Christians that, at least this one time, they need to vote Republican! I think there’s a groundswell of disatisfacton in this country as evidenced by the Chick-Fil-A story, or the couple in Va who refused to have Biden have a campaign photo-op at their bakery!

It would be impossible to rally around BOTH the Flag and this President as he has shown a disdain for the Country and the Flag.

He hates what American stands for and hates what this country has done as proven by his apology tours.

Unfortunately for Israel, they are on their own as our president is a Muslim Manchurian Candidate and would side with any rag head sand monkeys over Israel.

While I mostly agree with your statement of President Obama’s disdain for America the 20% of Americans in the middle that decide elections are ignorant of his hatred. In the past these uninformed Americans have rallied to the sitting President as a reflex action, that is my concern.

I believe it was General Sherman who said “War is the remedy our enemies have chosen, and I say give them all they want.”
