You forgot that I posted reply 178 which contains both sentences. Then I assume we are in agreement that the study shows that single rape events display the same lowered cortisol levels as chronic abuse. Good. Let's move on to your proof that rape increases cortisol.

I’ve got to call it a night. I’ll check back tomorrow for any responses.
This was fun. Thanks for the research project. Have a good night.

You assume wrongly. We are not in agreement.

Let's move on to your proof that rape increases cortisol. And what you're doing here is BS too!
I contend that stress, not rape, causes increased cortisol production.
You ain't that sly.

Cortisol and Stress: How to Stay Healthy By Elizabeth Scott, M.S.
Although stress isnt the only reason that cortisol is secreted into the bloodstream, it has been termed the stress hormone because its also secreted in higher levels during the bodys fight or flight response to stress, and is responsible for several stress-related changes in the body.
Elevated cortisol from stress after the rape can be how a woman prevents herself from becoming pregnant.
How hard is this to grasp?!

Stress: Constant stress puts your health at riskThe long-term activation of the stress-response system and the subsequent overexposure to cortisol and other stress hormones can disrupt almost all your body's processes. That's why you keep seeing the word "chronic" used in the studies!
The "chronic" doesn't react as they should because they've disrupted the way their body is supposed to work, even with their own cortisol production.
