However, Time magazine says:
"On Feb. 2, 1961, several months after they met, Obama’s parents got married in Maui, according to divorce records. It was a Thursday. At that point, Ann was three months pregnant with Barack Obama II."
I would think that even a big supporter of Obama would have to admit that this contradiction is puzzling.

His legal team will claim that there were no recognized, legal encumbrances upon him regarding citizenship at birth, other than those associated with his mother's US citizenship.
His mother, father and grandmother are dead, so no firsthand witnesses stateside. There is a divorce proceeding but the marriage certificate is oddly missing, imagine that.
This also isn't the first time a “single mother” claim has been made. Michelle Obama made a very similar statement during the Presidential campaign in 2008. She also said something to the effect that an adoption wouldn't keep Obama from office.
For all the smears, character assassinations, tinfoiling, smoke and mirrors, they have been at work preparing for the day, just in case. This seemingly offhand remark is laying the groundwork for part of it.
Obama’s obvious antipathy toward England might have a slightly different source than has been generally imagined. They won't cough it up, maybe. Still some loose thread lingering in the paper trail.
He says he’s born to a single mom, but the facts tell a different story. He says he was born in kenya and he says he was born in Hawaii. Which is it? How does anyone believe such a liar. Why doesn’t Mitt make an ad along these lines?
The only thing I believe about Obama is that his entire existence is a lie.

The original Dreams-based story line of the early years was re-enforced by the media. They did no research. It is as if they were told not to do research and take what they were given as Obama gospel. ‘Dreams’ was supposed to be the canonization of the story. Once canonized you are not to offer alternate truths.
Obama was probably born to a single mother. If the background of the LFBC image posted by the White House is from the original document this would match. The handwritten numbers tell the story - fathers race - 9 = ‘Not stated’. Fathers occupation - 9 = ‘not stated’.
He probably got his namesake fathers name in the ‘divorce’. Obama senior had left Hawaii. He was gone. The divorce was done over the mail. Obama Senior never responded to the divorce. In the ‘divorce’ papers his signature is on nothing. It was a ‘one way’ divorce with a made up marriage date with no supporting documentation. AND a missing page. That page is likely a birth document for Barack Obama II who is explicitly named in the ‘divorce’.
The entire divorce was likely give a name to a bastard child. Maybe this was needed for Stanley Ann’s next marriage - to Lolo Soetoro. A child with no formal father makes her unacceptable to a Muslim man. A child of a broken and dissolved marriage is less of an issue.
If you look at the ‘divorce’ documents remember:
- No Obama Senior signature on anything. He never acknowledged the divorce in any written response.
- Barack Hussein Obama II (not ‘Junior’) is explicitly named in the divorce.
The oddities are:
- The April 1964 INS memo stating Obama’s wife is in the Philippines.
- It was not until Obama Senior was about to lose his student visa that he tries to leverage the ‘divorce’ to his advantage.
