For the most part we have settled on 223.
but there is no reason that the 22 cant do the same job.
A 223 is just a heavier payload on a higher velocity bottle neck case.
I just picked up a CMMG 22 conversion kit for my AR15.
I expect to lose some accuracy and range but expect to save big dollars and get quieter.
