The Netherlands made its bed. Now it has to lie in it. They just had an election where they could have chosen to get out of the EU. They decided to stay the course. There will be consequences, economic and social, to that decision.
That’s not how the EU works. It’s an empire. You only get out of an empire by force.
Remember that the USSR also had constitutional clauses that claimed that any “union republic” could secede at any time.
