Skip to comments.Drone Carnage, Children Slaughtered: The Moral Question Obama Canít Evade

A moral question
It doubtlessly is a damning report that the researchers of the American universities have delivered on Americas drone adventurism. It succinctly brings out what a horrendous toll it has been exacting on innocent civilian lives and keeping the whole lot of populace in the targeted areas in constant dread of drones and their fatal assaults. The psychological impact on the people is just terrible, it underlines. But will this report have any impact on the American strategists at all? Not even an outside chance.
Over these times, the civil society worldwide is up in protest against this American adventurism. It wants it to be stopped as this leads up inevitably to the killing of the civilians indefensibly. For this brutal collateral damage, even the UN human rights community is raising its voice increasingly loudly against the use of drone attacks by the American warlords to take out targets they deem a threat to American lives and assets.
The main plea of the dissenting voices is that the drones may be killing the terrorists, but no lesser are they mowing down the innocent civilians who have nothing to do with terrorism. There indeed are very many voices that do not condone even the killing of terrorists in drone attacks, equating it with extrajudicial murder. They argue that no law, national or international, provides for the killing of a criminal or a suspect. Instead, every effort must be made to arrest them and bring them to justice in a court of law.
Nonetheless, all these pleas have fallen on deaf ears in Washington, so far. The decision makers over there remain unimpressed by the factual reality that these drone assaults are in fact proving counterproductive and creating more recruits for terrorism and extremism. Even as this drone adventurism is palpably giving tremendous fillip to anti-Americanism worldwide, the American warlords yet stay unswayed. They are keeping up with it. Indeed, since the advent of Barack Obamas presidency, they have further intensified it, raising a moral question that they must answer.
On what ground can they justify the killing of an innocent civilian even as collateral damage? The 9/11 holocaust was horrible, precisely because those slaughtered were no combatants but innocent civilians. And so has to be the killing of the civilians in the drone strikes. Indeed, with what peace of mind can President Obama sleep when even children get slaughtered in the drone assaults that he now personally approves? Appallingly enough, as part of his drone adventurism he has decreed that everyone within the vicinity of the targeted object be deemed a combatant, even if civilian, and liable to be decimated.
The extent of his adventurisms viciousness can easily be visualised from the destructive range of the Hellfire missile fired by drones. It not only destroys the struck target. It annihilates the compounds and assets in the close vicinity and kills the human beings in and around. Doesnt Obamas conscience gets pricked when the Hellfire missile takes in its killer sweep a child playing with toys in his home or a mother feeding her baby in her compound? What sin have they committed to meet such a tragic demise? Or does he and his war commanders think that the child, the mother and the baby should perish as they are no Americans and their lives are not even worth a dime?
Here there is certainly a moral question that is becoming increasingly compelling with the day and the American warlords can no longer evade answering it. So prompt they have always been in raising the issue of extrajudicial killings elsewhere in the world. And that promptness they have now to show in their own case. Of course, one could have no sympathy or compassion for those who kill and maim the fellow human beings in suicide bombings and terrorist blasts. But the murder of those having nothing to do with terrorism in the US drone attacks cannot be acceptable either and on no pretext could it be condoned or justified.
Obama’s drones flied, people died.
Has anyone ever wondered who exactly is on obama’s “hit” list...could it be on orders from the Muslim Brotherhood for those they wish to be taken out?
I was talking about this to a friend last week. He’s a big lib and he was bragging how cool Obama was with his precision point drones. I laughed.
I told him just wait. If Romney is elected, you will start seeing stories on 60 minutes about how much collateral damage drones cause, etc. You will see the ACLU and the typical leftists start demanding this action be stopped. Just wait.
——raising a moral question that they must answer.-——
If the left thinks water boarding three actual terrorist that helped kill Thousands of American was morally reprehensible because a republican president approved it...
...and then justifies killing innocent children and women...by drone attack in the dead of night ... ‘by a democrat president...
THEY HAVE NO MORALS COMPASS ....and can and will justify anything
Remember the ends justify the means....always and in all situations
The Muslims who operate the site are very concerned about collateral damage to a jihadi’s family when he’s hit. They appear less concerned about the targets of jihad.
The reason that the Obama Admin has authorized these drone attacks is to enrage the Middle East, and use it to install new ‘world dominance’ dictators (mullahs, etc). This unites them against the U.S. government and it’s people.
That doesn’t Obama. His job ends Dec. 21 when Valerie Jarrett takes over and declares us a Socialist Caliphate. He has a Palacial Estate in Hawaii to go to. He will probably be President of Hawaii, as I expect them to secede from the rule of the continent.
Please show me where, on that web site, it indicates it is run by Muslims.
I am very suspicious of your source. Am not sure they are on the right team.
It is Clear, that Obozo is on the enemy team. He deserves much worse than he has received, but I am also concerned about supporting the enemy of our nation in the process.
Obama used to do the same to his opponents in Chicago. Arranged to have the competition REMOVED.
However, I'm pretty sure that Obama doesn't know, or decide, who is on the 'list'. Hard to see updates to the list if you won't attend the intelligence meetings.
So.... someone else knows, and decides. A team of people, backed by 1000's, of course. But one person has their hand on the rudder. Now who is that?
Soon, maybe even before Election Day or even on Election Day, we will likely have drones flying above GOP precincts in swing states, hopefully not armed, but intent on intimidation of voters.
I have no problem dropping bombs but the way I see it is why continue the carnage?Just drop a few 30 kiloton nuke and clean out these Islamic crapholes.
We are going to have to do it sooner or later.Stop wasting the lives of our troops to these animals.
——yeah—when the “Bush-Cheney cabal” had control of the White House, dribbling water over the noses of terrorists caught in the act brought cries of torture and international condemnation.
Now, The One sits in a dark room, points a finger and an assortment of targets get blown away on the strength of hearsay evidence——no problem—

Not exactly a group of our fiends.
The true moral question is how many innocent people (kids, women and men) would these insane killers take before they were brought down. WAR is always messy and innocents suffer on both sides.
1) The site is in English and Arabic.
2) The site's expressed focus is "information from middle east".
3) The slant of the articles on its homepage is anti-Israel(talking about "Zionist groups" is a giveaway, as is the article on Israeli Occupation) and pro-Islamist, with articles advocating the freeing of Gitmo prisoners, moaning about drone attacks, complaining about the plight of Palestinians, and with most of their articles seeming to be authored by Muslims or coming from Muslim news sources
I think it is a reasonable conclusion that if you dig into who exactly is financing this site, it won't turn out to be Irish Nationalists.
0bama doesn’t have to evade any questions if no press of any significance is asking them.
It may come as a surprise for you but the Middle East is still populated by christians.
Middle Eastern christians speak Arabic!
I am a Catholic. My pastor came here from Lebanon. The scriptures are read in our Catholic Church, each week, in both English and Arabic. His family arrived last night from Lebanon, to spend some time with their son. Not one of them speaks English.
As for the "slant" on the articles, one can draw many different conclusions.
