I wanted to voice my opinion on something thats been bothering me for a really long time. I tried writing the newspaper and contacting TV stations but nobody seems to want to stick with this so Im calling you guys. Over the past few years Ive been involved in three separate car accidents involving deer. Each of these incidents occurred shortly after I saw a deer crossing sign on the highway.
My frustration is that Minnesota and North Dakota departments of transportation would allow these deer crossings to be in such high traffic areas. Ive even seen them on the interstate. Why are we encouraging deer to cross at the interstate, such a high traffic area?
I understand that deer are animals and they need to travel across the streets occasionally to survive and of course to find food, but Its so irresponsible of us to allow these deer crossings to be in areas where deer are likely to be struck by oncoming traffic. Youd think they would put deer crossings in smaller towns maybe at a school crossing would be a safer place for them to cross.
They can direct the deer population anywhere they want to by moving that deer crossing sign. Why in the world would they place it on the highway or the interstate? There are so many other places I can think of than putting deer crossing signs on busy highways or interstates. The deer crossing sign is there to allow the deer to know that thats where they need to cross. Dont put deer crossing signs on the interstate or freeways. Put them in lower traffic areas where its a lot slower small towns I think school crossings is a good idea.
Here!!! Here!!! She’s Vice Presidential material.
Yo, lady, when you’re in the voting booth, remember some of those signs went up on hussein’s watch.
Hey, garnering votes where we can.
In Texas, those signs would have to be bilingual because some deer can only read Spanish.
I’ll bet the writer will be voting for Obama. Thanks for the chuckle this gray morning.
I can’t tell if it’s a joke or just an Obama voter.
Obama voter.
She will fit in just nicely with those who are going to have a Million Muppet March on Washington Nov 3.... bunch of bird brains.
Near Wilmington, OH there’s a “Deer Crossing” sign about a quarter-mile down the road from a John Deere dealer.
Ohh yo deer lady ? Romney wants less government, so therefore,, that means,, less deer crossing signs.. got it deer lady ? Less government, less deer crossing signs.... push Romney button for less deer crossing signs.
I want the sign by my house moved too. I had to blow the horn twice this morning to get the 6 deer that were standing in the road to move.
Remember that every time you hear the politicians and the MSM moan about more $$$$$$ for "the nation's crumbling infrastructure." A lot of that money goes to put up signs every couple of feet on roads. In my area, there is a sign to make a left turn if you want to get to Route 63 and its on the exit ramp of Route 63. We have electronic billboards that cost a fortune that, for the most part, flash "Don't Drink and Drive."
good grief, this woman has to be an obama voter too.
A couple of threads from a few days ago if anyone is interested in the comments thereon.
Fargo woman completely missing the point behind deer-crossing signs ^
