If life were just, and it isn’t, the upper echelon of the poverty industry would be wiped out with a good, stiff sequester. But no, it would hit the poor in hopes that they will riot, thus reversing the cuts and preserving the jobs of the welfare bosses. This system is like the Soviet system: the lower classes stand in bread lines, while the upper class lives in dachas by the sea and drives a Mercedes.

To: A_perfect_lady Maybe you can give classes in the use of the apostrophe to members of FR.
I'm afraid that it wouldn't take. The overwhelming majority cannot conceive of how "its" is different from "it's." And almost no one on FR can understand that the plural of proper nouns is not made by placing an apostrophe at the end of the word followed by an "s." It's the result of lack of attention when reading works by authors who know the English language.

The government middle class is why Obama and Pelosi are against immediately increasing the taxes on the middle class. They haven’t figured out how to separate the Democrat middle class from the Republican middle class for tax purposes. I suppose that is a priority within the Democrat party, though. Obama and Pelosi keep yammering about the middle class because they know that in the 2014 elections, there are more Democrat Senators up for re-election than Republican Senators. If those government Democrat middle class taxpayers get hit with a loss of take home pay, they just might not vote in 2014.

------------- Irony follows do not take seriously, all -------------
I think you're being terribly unfair.
Based on what I read here, I believe most mis-apostrophisers use the "it is due" method. E.g. I've typed three words ending in "S" without an apostrophe so the next word ending in "S" get's (!) an apostrophe because its (!) due.
Peet (who had to teach a PHd. in english who used them interchangeably the difference between "i.e." and "e.g.")

Oh yes! LOL... I also liked Florence King's example: Kill Edward not to fear is good. (Does it say Kill Edward, not to fear is good, or Kill Edward not, to fear is good?)
