You didn’t waste anything. You helped hold the tide back that much longer. That means a LOT to millions, and whether or not they know it doesn’t change that.

I don’t have liberal friends. I treat the former ones with derision. And I also let them know that when the SHTF, they are not welcome to seek help from me and mine. As in terminally not welcome...

I only know this woman from the Doggie Park. I think she’s the only liberal that ever comes there. Our town is at least 90% Conservative.

She’s really to be pitied for her health problems. I think she was born with one leg shorter than the other, which has caused both hip and knee problems. I think she has had those joints replaced through the years.

I don’t think she has many friends, but I’ve been told that she is a very good travel agent.

I’m Texan through and through—and she’s from Massachusettes. Just on that basis, we don’t have a lot in common. We are also of very different religions.

Thanks jfd1776.
The Left doesn’t have a destination in mind. They expect you to suffer without improvement. If anything, they want Americans to get worse. They wreck the economy so that unemployment leads to foreclosure; they wreck the market so that investments turn to bankruptcy, and savings turn to poverty. They wreck the government so that annual deficits lead to crippling, inescapable debt; they wreck the healthcare system so that sickness leads to death. There is no good reason to focus on suffering today. Yes, we’re a nation in debt. But that doesn’t mean we need to suffer; it means we need to get to work!

Very informative article...and easy to understand.

BTW, My Dad used to watch Buckley every Sunday when I was a kid. I’m glad he did.

If we must all nobly share the sacrifice, how are the poor to share?

If we had a growth economy again, more people would become the hated rich.

class warfare keeps the classes focused on each other, not the effing politicians.

the soution is to get rid of all the poiticians causing the class warfare.

I sometimes think I’d like to be wealthy, and I do buy lotto tickets, but having known many “rich” people, I’m not sure I could stomache it.

If I won the lotto tonight...
The feds are going to take about 30% before I even cash the check and deposit the money somewhere.
Since I don’t even know the extent of my ignorance about preserving my newfound wealth, I will have to hire people to advise me, and other people to make sure the people I hired are advising me honestly.
I will also need lawyers.
Not because I intend to do anything illegal, but because there are so many laws written to make sure I can’t just give money to my friends and family,or even random strangers without paying the feds even more from the same pot of money they have already taxed.
If I try to give my best friend a million dollars of my after tax cash, she will owe taxes on that.
And I will need to hire security guards.
Not because I will suddenly start doing dangerous things or frequenting dangerous areas, but because dangerous criminals will suddenly start targeting me, in ways I don’t even know exist.
I can’t just pay people I trust to do these things for me, since if I pay them, I have to pay employer taxes for paying them.
And workmans comp, social security, medicare etc.
So far I estimate a need of a minimum staff of twelve fulltime employees just to protect me from criminals and the IRS.

I’m already bitter, thinking about the amount of money that I would be forced to lose if I won the lotto.

I can’t imagine how angry I would be if I had actually earned great wealth by hard work.....

We do need the rich’s money. But we don’t need it in Washington, or Springfield or Sacramento or Lansing or Madison or Albany...the rich's money goes right back into the economy and gets spread around to help lots of people - the real way to "spread the wealth" - when it's taxed it has to wind its way through the bowels of the government before it's excreted in the form of unemployment compensation, food stamps and "stimulus" money, with much of its nutritional value exhausted in lots of nice jobs and perks to keep the government going and nothing else, including strengthening the economy and country (which contrary to what libs believe is not a synonym for "government")......

Fantastic and much needed article. Puts everything into perspective. Thanks for writing it. One of those articles that needs to be spread around.... I’ll look at your Illinois Review URL as well. We cannot ever begin to believe that we are the villains. Thanks again.

Not the same amount, the same percentage.

If the fruits of your labor are money and property, we should all work the same amount of time to fund the Government.

10% Flat Tax Bracket, you work 5.2 weeks a year, (36.5 Days) to earn the Taxes you pay, whether you are Rich or Poor.

That is the only “fair” solution, and it will never happen. The Tax Code is now the Punish Code, just as Voting is not a Right, it is Revenge.

The Commies have won without firing a shot...

Shut the limousine liberals up.
Call for a ‘wealth tax’. Ignore income and go after a percentage of their accumulated wealth.
Stock and bonds, yachts, planes, summer homes. About 10% ought to do it.
Only exemptions, primary residence, first $1m.
Watch ole’ Buffet, Gates, Reid, Pelosi, etc. scream.
