Obama Silent As Marine Is Chained To Bed In Mexican Jail On Trumped Up Charges
Freedom Outpost ^ | December 6, 2012

Former United States Marine (once a Marine, always a Marine) and Iraq War Veteran Jon Hammar endured much in his tour in the streets of Fallujah, but now he spends most of his time chained to a bed in a Mexican jail on trumped up gun charges that could result in twelve years in jail. Not surprisingly his former commander-in-chief Barack Obama has been absolutely silent on the matter, even though he was arrested on August 13. Didn’t anyone tell you this?

Hammar took to Mexico with a friend to surf, as it was the only thing that seemed to ease his mind following his service in Iraq. He is now within walking distance of the U.S. border, but sadly does not possess the freedom to do so.

And why is a former Marine chained to a bed in a Mexican Jail? (McClatchy DC reports):

The reason might seem ludicrous. Hammar took a six-decade-old shotgun into Mexico. The .410 bore Sears & Roebuck shotgun once belonged to his great-grandfather. The firearm had been handed down through the generations, and it had become almost a part of Hammar, suitable for shooting birds and rabbits.

But Mexican prosecutors who looked at the disassembled relic in the 1972 Winnebago motor home dismissed the U.S. registration papers Hammar had filled out. They charged him with a serious crime: possession of a weapon restricted for use to Mexico’s armed forces.

Hammar isn’t the only American accused of questionable gun-related charges at Mexico’s border. Last April, a truck driver who was carrying ammunition through Texas got lost near the border, dipped into Mexico to make a U-turn and was forced to spend more than six months in jail.

Did this former Marine not understand Mexico is a war zone?

Like I said, the election is over. The slacker doesn’t need the military any more.

I hate doing anything on Whitehouse.gov, BUT since they already send me updates, I checked and there are a couple petitions on the “We the People” petition site. I signed. This guy is a Vet and needs our help.

...Did this former Marine not understand Mexico is a war zone?...

The fact that he had the shotgun with him implies that he did.

Anybody who goes to Mexico is risking the chance of ending getting falsely charged for something.

I’d never take the risk of going to Mexico for any reason.

Wonder if Marco Rubio will give him Amnesty, too, like all the Illegal Aliens?

I am tired of all the crap we put up with from Mexico. And, both the GOP and DNC pander to Mexico, to its Illegal Aliens here, and is complicit with Mexico in treating US citizens as substandard

When is the treatment of American citizens in Mexico and their rights vs US treatment of Mexicans going to be an issue when we discuss amnesty ?

Ever hear of reciprocal aggrements ? These are arranged to protect the rights of American citizens working or living in other countries.

Why is it when it comes to citizens of other countries we are required to offer them the same privledges as we do to US citizens? But when it comes to US citizens who get in trouble or attempt to do business in other countries they do not get the same treatment their citizens get.

Americans can’t own coast land in Mexico. And get no title to it elsewhere. If they run out of cash they’ll get unceremoniously sent back or put in jail untill some relative comes up with the “fresh”. That’s just for starters as for granting them voting privledges yea let’s give Mexican citizens that right when American citizens vote in their elections .

Indeed yes.

I have made inquires but the United States government does not work on the weekends. No emergencies allowed.

And why I haven’t heard about this is beyond me. That is what we do here. Someone is trying to keep this quiet for a reason.

Starting tomorrow it won’t be so quiet.

Obama is more concerned with Bradley Manning’s treatment.

Since when did a .410 shottie become a “Military weapon”?

This case is a good example of Messico putting the ‘spic’ in “despicable”.

The place should be declared a weapons test zone.

“I’d never take the risk of going to Mexico for any reason.”

This should be printed in giant letters on every street corner of every boarder state!

Growing up down here, most visits from friends or relatives in the ‘50s and ‘60s included the obligatory trip to Mexico.

I haven't set foot in that miserable pest-hole since the 1970’s and never will again. There is ABSOLUTELY nothing that justifies going there.

If you think about, if hundreds of thousands of Mexicans risk their lives to come to the US...

There was something on the local news about some young kids who ended up in a Mexican prison. They apparently thought someone had given/loaned them a car(?) or something like that- but then , (What a shock/s), they were arrested by the federallies for car theft-sent to prison- send money to get them out- exc.....One of them has been released, but, the other 3 are still locked up. They are trying to get them out

Haven't seen anything about this story yet, but maybe they will cover it too?

Prayers being said .

This as reported is a DISGRACE. Citizens of Mexico in our Country are treated better than US Citizens.
