Man who obeyed Montana’s medical marijuana laws could get life in prison from Obama administration
wordpress ^ | December 10, 2012 | Dan from Squirrel Hill

This seven minute video from the New York Times shows the story of Chris Williams in Montana. This makes me really glad that I wrote in Ron Paul for President in 2008, and voted for Libertarian Gary Johnson in 2012. I also applaud Green Party candidate Jill Stein’s position on this issue.

For those of you who voted for Obama, well, I hope you’re happy with his actions against medical marijuana. I hope you’re happy that this person could get life in prison. I hope you’re happy that people with AIDS, cancer, multiple sclerosis, glaucoma, and other illnesses, who have prescriptions for medical marijuana from their doctors, are being denied the medicine that they need.

No, what she needs is for do-gooders to stop hurting the innocent while “saving” evil people from themselves.

Every person who took dope that ended up in your hospital put themselves there. Marie does not deserve to suffer in pain because junkies can’t control themselves.

My wife is a personal trainer. She has seen first hand what a sedentary lifestyle coupled with poor eating habits does to people.

The differences between my wife’s scenario and yours are: 1. More people suffer and die from being sedentary and eating crap than from dope, 2. poor diet and lack of exercise costs us far more in healthcare costs than illegal dope and 3. my wife hasn’t made herself such a do-gooder that she’ll send you to prison for eating McDonalds . . . and there is no medical reason to eat McDonalds.

As Hank Williams said, “Mind your own business and you won’t be minding mine.”

Like I said...it sounds like "Marie" needs a better doctor.

You hit on something there. With pain medicine, I can function. I do my physical therapy. I can MOVE. I can control my diet.

Without pain medication, I’m sitting my chair, in agony. I’m punished for every attempt to get better. I’m eating carbs to feed the stress reaction and sleep deprivation.

Sometimes I feel like I’m being punished for being a WOD nazi. I was the anti-drug queen.

Then reality hit and I realized that I didn’t know what the hell I’d been preaching about. I’d thought that I knew what pain was.

I didn’t.

Please, explain to me how a ‘better doctor’ could help me. Seriously, I’m all ears.

While you’re at it, you can explain to me how a ‘better doctor’ could’ve helped my grandfather stop screaming for six straight weeks as he slowly died in agony from pancreatic cancer.

Obama opposes medical marijuana and legalized marijuana for one reason, and one reason only. Like Bill Clinton, he gets a kickback from the Mexican drug cartels, and legalization hurts their business.

In other words, he only disapproves of legal drugs. He loves illegal drugs, just like he loves illegal immigrants, because he profits by them. And, of course, the feds can still arrest an occasional illegal drug user if they feel in the mood to do so. Just as long as it’s not a cartel member!

“...people with AIDS, cancer, multiple sclerosis, glaucoma, and other illnesses, who have prescriptions for medical marijuana...”

I read a study that said that 3% of people with a cronic illness use medical majijuana and 92% take prescribed pharmaceuticals.
Why is it then that within a 4 block radius of my house (North Hollywood CA) there are 12 “dispensaries” yet only 1 drug store?

I know someone who worked in the ER for years too and would tell me about all sorts of motorcycle accident cases.

Should we take anything and everything possible that has self-destructive applications out of the hands of everyone? Should we enforce a federal curfew?

I know. How about we let everyone take responsibility for themselves and leave them to their own vices? Gee, what a concept.

I hope you realize that supporting the WOD gives the government more and more ammunition to enact stricter gun laws? Sounds to me like you could care less though since this is your pet do-gooder project.

0bama 'promised' not to prosecute medical marijuana users and providers.

Zer0 is what an 0bama promise is worth.

I am extremely sorry.

I’ve never even tried illegal dope. I’m just not interested. The ban has seen an erosion of our rights to the point where the police can take and sell our personal property with no evidence. We spend billions to keep the stuff off our streets. Criminals are making billions anyway and no one has limited access to the stuff. To make matters worse, more devastating drugs have been invented so that they can be fabricated without crossing borders. I don’t want ANYONE to use this crap, but I can’t stop someone from doing it to themselves. God gave us free will. That is a reality.

God bless you and I pray for a way for you to cope with your pain.

Taking illegal drugs to escape reality is cowardice, and we don’t need more cowards in this country.

Last time I checked, being a coward isn't a jailable offense. If that's the only objection to marijuana, it certainly shouldn't be illegal.

Now wait a minute. I’ve never tried illegal “dope” either.

I was the ANTI-DRUG NAZI QUEEN of all time for decades.

I take my PRESCRIBED medications in the PRESCRIBED dosages at the PRESCRIBED times. Even if I’m in agony, I don’t cheat and take a pill early.

NEVER.

As the drug nazi queen, I always thought that this was for the ‘other’. The ‘druggies’. People who said, “my back hurts” and have no physical tests to prove otherwise.

I have found that the WOD applies to people dying (and I mean literally DYING) of cancer, people with broken backs, people with MS... it DOESN’T matter. If you have a dozen doctors and a hundred tests confirming that YOU ARE IN PAIN, the WOD will prevent you from getting pain relief.

I have never taken pot. But I know that my grandfather’s doctor tried to give it to him when he was dying of pancreatic cancer. It would’ve made him more comfortable with chemo, helped with the nausea and lessened his pain.

People who’re healthy cannot possibly understand how much life can suck when you’re broken.

Why in hell are we so worried about saving druggies from themselves that we’re willing to slit the throats of people who’re genuinely suffering???

Let Darwin’s Law pick off the druggies and help those in need of pain relief.

Just curious, why have you not tried marijuana to see if it offers you any relief for your pain? I don’t know that it would, but I know that after having torn both my quadriceps tendons five years apart, and once relying on vicodin and oxycodone and once relying mostly on marijuana, I had much more relief from the pain and fewer side effects with the marijuana. It was also much easier to stop using when the pain was no longer there.

Nope. Never tried it.

And I don’t dare.

See, as a ‘pain patient’ I am treated as a criminal. I have to take a urinalysis every month and prove that I’m not a drug abuser. My levels can’t be too high or have THC in them or I’m an abuser. If my levels are too low, then I’m obviously selling my pills for money and I’m a dealer.

I take exactly what I’m prescribed on the dot.

What makes me sick is that I see 80 year old ladies with crippling arthritis and spinal issues treated the same way in the waiting room.

This is what happens when the government thinks they know what’s best for all of us.

You know what else makes me angry?

Every time this subject comes up on FR, the anti-drug nazis come out of the closet.

As soon as *I* pipe up with my personal situation, they shut up. The argument goes away.

They NEVER admit they’re wrong and the same people pop up on the next WOD thread, but they back down on THIS thread.

In every aspect of right-wing thought, we allow failures. (Don’t save the person who’s made bad personal life-choices.) But not drug addicts.

For some reason, THOSE people should be protected by the power of BIG government. Even if it means that people dying in agony suffer.

But try to regulate BACON, soda sizes or smoking...

Inconsistent JERKS.

I had no idea you would be subjected to urinalysis on such a constant basis just because you have chronic pain. I’m very sorry to hear that. I don’t know what I would do in your situation, outside of trying to find a doctor that was sympathetic to marijuana use.

You are a friggin’ jerk. I’ve dealt with pompous Aholes like you during my bouts with chronic pain issues. You need a different career, something better qualified to your talents...perhaps shoveling stalls at a Thoroughbred Horse Ranch.

I am so sorry about your predicament, Marie. Living in constant pain has to be a hell on earth. It must zap any energy... both physical and mental from you. Don’t worry about the anti-drug freepers. Chances are they haven’t been in your shoes or seen someone die in agony. I’ve said this before (much to the dismay and shock of some), that I considered buying marijuana when my Mother was dying from pancreatic cancer. To see a once beautiful woman... unable to eat was heart breaking. I could literally check on her in the morning and by evening.. she as smaller, more frail and weak. A good eating day consisted of two gingersnap cookies and some water. Day in, day out. The only problem is that I didn’t have any idea in the world where to get it; however, I would have purchased it in a minute if it could have helped her.

Prayers for you and relief of your pain. You are a good person and I admire that you are able to educate us of your condition and post when you can. Hugs, Mom

The first paragraph of this addle brained Libertarian’s article shows just how ignorant he is. He’s just as culpable for Zero being in office as the people he scolds in the second paragraph. He needs to look closer at a mirror and understand how voting works.
