Bob Beckel on Fox news asked yesterday, "Why does anyone need an "assault rifle"?
I thought...Why does anyone need a 900 HP muscle car?...they could drive an East German wondercar like the Trabant or a Yaris or some other meager means of transport which aren't so "wasteful and dangerous". Why is there 1st class seating on airliners? Why are there multi CPU, overclocked computers when a plain vanilla Dell would be adequate?
I know you could come up with many more examples like this.
There are many choices we have the privledge to make because we live in this wonderful country. Some of the choices are wasteful, frivolous or dangerous to some. One of the choices we have is the weapon we choose. Whether it's for sport or protection...it's our choice...like many things in our life. You know...."assault weapons" are not Automatic weapons...they are the same mechanically as some hunting rifles with just a change in the stock design...with maybe a pistol grip added. They look more dangerous to these communists in the house and senate so they want to get rid of them. Most don't know a thing about firearms.
We have, and enjoy owning all types of guns because we are Americans and have freedom of choice. It would be wrong to take guns away from good and lawful people. You know the criminals won't give up there's. This is just another lie from the left.

The 2nd doesn;t say what kind of gun I should have and besides I like shooting and those idiots up in NY City in their elitist circles wouldn;t understand about that because their sense of fun is going to their elitist party, dressing up,m drinking their wine whilst swirling the damn thing and all of them trying to out do each other in their stories, what jobs they have and emotions .

“Assault weapon” is a term made up by hoplophobes, and nobody needs one. A nice .223 target gun, now, is a different story, as is a fun 7.62x39 plinker.

To turn that question around I would ask why do a 20% minority, liberals, think they have the right to dictate to the majority of the people? Killing 1.2 million babies a year through abortion is their sacrifice to their evil god and they turn their back on Chicago’s gangland killings that exceed death tolls in the Iraq war.

Exactly, if they want to ban some/all guns, first ban cars that go over the posted speed limit. Why do you need a car that goes 100+ mph. Banning them is just as stupid. Difference is one is guaranteed by the 2nd amendment the other is not.
Don’t answer that question from the point of view or the language of the antigunners. Win by shifting the meanings back. Assault weapon is a made up term. like Saturday Night Specials and coathanger abortions.
Because I like shooting all sorts of guns and then protect myself, not that the metrosexual NY City / DC turds would know anything about.

I thought “Assault Rifle” was a term coined by Robin Williams in The Survivors because his wife was upset that he brought machine guns home.

When I was an ignorant twenty year old, I thought the same thing. I still believed the 2nd amendment was about hunting. The 1992 LA Riots changed my opinion about these weapons. The police abandoned parts of the city and only the armed Koreans saved their stores. If the SHTF, you want a good semi-auto rifle or carbine and lots of ammo.
Why does the poster need FNC? It certainly cannot be to obtain a truly balanced viewpoint.

Well Bob, the first thing you need to know is that if the weapon doesn’t have “select fire” and/or “full auto” capability, it IS NOT an “assault rifle”.
The second thing you need to know is that “need” is NOT a detrmination YOU are in a position to make.
Bob, do you “need” the protection of the 13th Amendment, or can we throw that one out?
