Very good post overall.

At the risk of being slightly off topic, while we often blame the Stupid Party for their ineptitude the Republicans virtually NEVER have the advantage of a dominant news media behind them. It’s like trying to beat a team when the referees are helping the other guys win. When has the MSM ever backed any conservative cause or issue? The Democrats, on the other hand, can rest assured that the MSM will fully support them with favorable saturation coverage and run cover for them whenever unfavorable issues arise. The game is completely rigged.

The next time you hear a report on the fiscal cliff negotiations or any other politically contentious situation notice that the report will almost always include an actual audio clip from a democrat, while the republican response is almost always paraphrased by the anchor.

Just one of the many ways the news is slanted for effect.
