Six months ago, Thor, a German shepherd mix, was enduring a painful life of abuse. On Thursday, he was flying home in first class courtesy of Alaska Airlines following specialized surgery on his jaw which took place in California.
Life has changed greatly for the young dog.

chris, to me that is the face of an angel.
“Vengeance is mine” sayeth the Lord.
“I will repay.”
I trust that His justice will be perfect.
I am at a loss to understand how people, His creation, have come to behave in such ways.
I have known of this behavior for most of my life sadly.
When I was a small boy, my Mom took me to the farm of my brother’s grandfather for summer vacations.
One time when I arrived there, I became aware that a German Shepherd had given birth to some pups and they were under one of the sheds. Naturally I wanted to go and see them, so I crawled under there, and there she was nursing very new born pups.
I proceeded to pet them and her a number of times each day for a few days. They warned me she would bite me for messing with them, but she never did.
Then one morning, for reasons I do not know, Pop, my brother’s grandfather, decided that these dogs could go on no longer. He took up a hammer and went outside and he killed them all with the hammer.
I hated him for that. I learned about the people of that farm. They did not value animal life very much at all.
That was around 1980 or so. It seems things have gotten much, much worse.
I love sheppards. That face!
I wish I had a life style that could afford a dog, financially and with the time they deserve.
As the old saying goes “The more I know people, the better I like dogs.”
On the inside it says, "we have to pee"
Never before have I read truer words than these.
One can measure the greatness and the moral progress of a nation by looking at how it treats its animals

Hahahaha!
I know that at least one of them is thinking about farting too :P
Just look at the love in those faces, even in the hunter cat!
Those commercials always make me cry. The faces of the animals show pain, terror, fright, hopelessness. Wish I could take all of them and find them loving forever homes.
And yet he still loves people. What a wonderful, beautiful boy. I love dogs.
I second the emotions here. Dogs are wonderful creatures of God.
Here is Thor’s latest updates.

“that commercial on TV”
Breaks my heart, too. We all howl about it every time it shows up on tv.
