Our youngest son has been in the Ohio Virtual Academy from its inception. OHVA uses the k-12 program, co-founded by Bill Bennett. We started with kindergarten, and our son is now half way through grade 10. He consistently scores above average on state tests.

Oddly, last year some flags began going up on a couple of the courses. Global warming came up in Science as fact, and in a business course, the material stated that it is always best to do business with and through the government. WTH? Fortunately we are the teachers and though he completed the lessons, our son expressed his rejection of the lesson plan as opinion and not fact in his written work.

I have to think we are the exception and that most kids and parents go along with the lesson plan without questioning.

I like the History Channel, but they almost always refer to Global Warming as settled science whenever they discuss it.
