Talking? Talking is so last century. They just sit in pods clicking and swiping away. It is eerie; the only sounds are the sounds of their smart phones.
That's about my rate. I'm 63, and weeks go by where I don't use my cell phone. It's a handy gadget....when not overused.
At 66 you and your wife have probably said it all already! (My wife and I included.) ;-)
I’m with you - I miss the days when the phone was securely attached to the wall. My wife uses hers a lot more than me. I only carry mine so she can contact me if necessary - when we’re together, mine stays at home on the counter. I have some months where I show under 15 minutes use on mine. You got me beat by 6 years, but the generational effects are pretty much the same.
I’m in my 40s, and I don’t understand the fascination either. But then I’ve never enjoyed gabbing on the phone much.
These idiots are oblivious....in public, they block you because they have no idea there are actually other people around them. I love being behind one of them and trying to get by. I say “excuse me” in a normal voice, but of course they don’t hear. My next “EXCUSE ME!!!” makes them jump out of their skin.
