So what has the would-be fascists undies in a bundle? Private sales. I'm not a firearms dealer. If i decide to sell one of my firearms to my neighbor, i can do it anytime, anywhere. That sounds like freedom and liberty to me. I don't have to run a background check. I do have to have reasonable belief that my neighbor can legally own a firearm. If i know he just got out of jail and is a convicted felon, well then i shouldn't.
So there is no gun show loophole. When would be gun grabbers say that, it is code for "any and all private sales" aka - national gun registry. They want to know where every single firearm is. Why? I believe the only real use for such information is to eventually develop a plan for confiscation.
I do not agree with closing any gun show loophole.
FWIW, people should be able to buy and sell guns as they wish.
It makes me nervous when governments get in the business of figuring out how to prevent people from buying and selling anything. It ALWAYS involves some method of tracking and snooping and invading and annoying or harrassing.
Nonsense.
America does not need more tyranny.
America needs more freedom.
Repeal the "Gun-Free School Zones Act".
Empower teachers, staff, and volunteers to arm themselves for self defense and for the defense of the precious children in their care.
Armed citizens can stop deranged killers.
Empower armed citizens! Defend the children!
If it saves even one life, it's worth it.
There is no gun show loophole. People who buy guns from FFL licensed dealers at gun shows go through the same NICS background check that anyone buying a gun anywhere else does.
When they say "gun show loophole," what they're really saying they want to make all transfers of guns between private parties illegal. In the same breath they also usually say that they want to make "straw man purchases," in which one person buys a gun for another person, illegal.
In short: if this becomes law, I will be committing a Federal felony if I buy a new shotgun to give as a gift to my son-in-law. Or a .22 rifle to give to my grandson. Or every time an old friend shows up at my deer camp, has trouble with his gun, and I loan him one of mine for the week.
So what's the hidden agenda of the gun-control Left? The same as it's been for the past 60 years. As Mao said:
"All political power comes from the barrel of a gun. The Communist party must command all the guns, that way, no guns can ever be used to command the party."
