No kidding. There was a push recently to make it ok to carry a handgun in a vehicle. Don’t think it ever went anywhere. Also, Alabama is a “may issue” as opposed to a “shall issue” State. In other words the sheriffs dept does not have to show cause to reject the permit. And currently I’m not on the best of terms with some in the Sheriffs dept.

Another thing. In Alabama, I don’t know if it’s true in other places, if you have had 1 (as in one) drink then your permit is invalid. Not if ur drunk, if you have a drink. As I like to drink sometimes and considering all the other BS involved in carrying a handgun, I’ve chosen not to participate.
