Gay Marriage – some theological considerations
New York Daily Sun ^ | 10/01/12 | Kurt Jones

The ongoing debate about gay marriage is an ongoing one that places the church’s theology in an apparently direct confrontation with modern liberal society. In the US, gay marriage has been legalized in some states and the UK is currently going through political discussions in Westminster as old-hand Tories (and that’s how they largely seem in this situation) argue against the senior members of their parties (and most members of the other parties) who suggest that it should be legalized in an opt-in manner such that opposing churches aren’t obliged to hold the services.

There is no such thing as allowing “an opt-in manner such that opposing churches aren’t obliged to hold the services”.

The upshot is, that either the specific denomination MUST accept the validity of same-sex marriage, or that institution will be forced into a marginal position and declared a “cult”, just like the Scientologists are treated in Germany.

Of course, there is also the concept in European countries, that the various churches are subject to government overview, and whichever religion a person claims to be a member of, part of that person’s gross income is assessed as a tax and turned over to the church for which they are declared members.

Huge disincentive to declare yourself to be a member of any recognized church. And one of the reasons that so many European countries have become “post-Christian”.

As one might suspect, Islam is not subject to these strictures and limitations. This has contributed greatly to their growth and spread among the post-Christians.

Those who support homosexuals are against our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ.
These anti Christ people only bring destruction on us ALL.
I have NO sympathy for homosexuals!

Homosexuality is a "Mark" of disobedience.
Someone once asked The answer is in the definition of "REPROBATE". And the reason"why" is given in the Bible.

God has a cure for homosexuals.

The only theological considertion necessary on “gay marriage” is that there ain’t no such thing.

There is no “right to marry”.

Marriage is historically an obligation undertaken by two people prior to engaging in activities that might be reasonably expected to yield offspring, for the purpose of creating an environment most likely to allow said offspring to survive to become productive adults.

Towards that end, there are plenty of restrictions placed on who can marry: you can’t marry someone closely related to you, you can’t marry (in most civiliztions) anyone if you’re already married, you can’t marry if you have a “loathsome social disease”, and so on.

Since two people of the same sex cannot do anything that might yield offspring, there is no need for them to “marry”.

If the position taken is that “any two people who love each other have a right to marry”, since I love my mother and she loves me, does that mean I have the right to marry her? If not, why not?

If it's homosexuality like BrokeBack Mountain, it is Adultery as in "THOU SHALT NOT COMMIT ADULTERY".

If it is outside of Holy Matrimony, it is Fornication as in "But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becomes saints" Ephesians 5:3.

Have you noticed a lack of Preaching on both these subjects lately?

We need to look at this great outburst of Homosexuals insisting on marriage for what it really is.

It is an attack on Faith. An attack against God.

They mean to destroy all Faiths and Church’s. When that happens the Government becomes the deity.

It reminds me: I read a great article by Sheriff Jim R. Schwiesow, Ret. written February 4, 2011 from "NewsWithViews.com" and here's part of it.

A left-wing acquaintance of mine gleefully posted this on his Facebook page. This is the rationale with which we are dealing. I looked-up Jim Rigby and he is a regular on the Huffington Post and an "activist" pastor.
