The long arm in the trunk wasn’t an AR-15 because the deputy is racking the bolt from the side. You cycle the bolt on a AR by pulling the charging handle from the rear.

most of the time that’s true.
with all the variants out there,I’ve seen side chargers,too.
Not that it matters. All guns are evil, those are just more evil this month.

You are exactly right ,,, ARs do not have a side action bolt . Any assault rifle with a pistol grip to the Mean Streak Media is an AR-15 in their book .
