They only have the right and power to uphold the Constitution. They need to do that and only that!

I disagree. The country was formed based on Judeo-Christian principles, but not truly as a 'Christian' nation, because the Founders wanted this country to be open to people of ALL religions, or even NO religion. Our laws are based on those from Britain, which were based on the Common Law, which were likely based on the Ten Commandments, so at their root, our laws ARE based in religion, but the Founders strove NOT to force any particular religion on anyone.
