Reminds one of the theories of Julian Jaynes...except that I believe the bicameral mind condition never ceased.

It only ceased for those who stopped listening for the voice of God. Those who listened for the voice of God still heard it, however more faintly.

And those others who no longer heard God (or even gods) as an auditory hallucination...now heard a voice which spoke but then told the listeners they heard the truth, but the speaker didn't exist (this was Satan's greatest trick).

I have those dreams at once a week. Last week I dreamed I awoke in a hospital, but had no recollection of why I was there.

Standard Karl Jung free-floating anxiety...Obama/Communist anxiety.

Dreams may not be real, but they are real symbols of the perverse reality of our current world.
