Remember back in the day when the purpose of marriage was for begetting children, and our immigration policy gave families of skilled workers preference?
The theory being that these couples would produce good citizens who were proud to be Americans.

I wasn't alive back then, but wouldn't that be a novel idea for an immigration policy?
