Actually most pre-war European Jews were in Poland before the war, because of the tolerance of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth towards the Jews. In Germany proper, there were about a half a million Jews, as opposed to 3 million in Poland.

Yeah, I don’t doubt that, but I’m talking the great expanse of history from the Middle Ages. Good point Poland was probably also heavily Jewish. We still see many Polish names on Jews here.
