It's more like, if cops lives were REALLY at risk, a significant percentage would not show up for work, so any risk to cops is taken very seriously.

The occupational fatality rate for police is 16.8, as compared to:

Always remember how many New Orleans police didn't show up for work.

Always remember how the police ran away during the LA Riots.
