To: SWAMPSNIPER

M1 Garand - looks to me like the operating rod is retracted and the bolt is open (not missing). Maybe some old rifleman can correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t see anything funny about that.

No, you can see where the operating rod is forward. I think these rifles are M-14s.

The good news is they have bayonets...and the ‘shoulder thing that goes up’... so they sure look tough!

The operating rod handle is fully forward in the photo. Had there been bolts in those rifles they would have been clearly visable.
