DDT was discovered to have insecticide characteristics in 1939. By the end of WWII it was in widespread use to control insect pests. By 1952 the United States had thrown off the yoke of FDR's New Deal and elected a Republican President and a Republican Congress.

Anticommunist movements arose at that time. However, in 1962, Silent Spring by American biologist Rachel Carson was published, the use of DDT was suppressed and almost like clockwork we elected LBJ who instituted a socialist regime throughout the country. By 1972 DDT was BANNED, and the hapless Jimmy Carter and his band of clowns took over the government.

Fortunately we've come up with other ways to eradicate mosquitos but many leftists reject the idea of pumping more chemicals into the environment (their phrase not mine) so efforts falter and people in those areas ~ precisely the Blue State 'blue county' areas ~ continue to get bit by mosquitos.
