The Sheriffs dept. should demand that a legislator accompany them on all of these inspections and approach the homes first.
4th amendment, 5th amendment....all fun and games til the resistance...
Darn WA state was one of those places I had thought to retire.. if that is possible. Maybe it will return to sanity. Thanks for the post.
The laboratories of democracy have become the stomping grounds of socialists/totalitarians. Totalitarians and their tactics coming out of the woodwork for the Totalitarian-in-Chief.
FUBO
The only way they would get into my house would be over my dead body.
Do they burn you out if you don’t surrender immediately?
This is what irks me. If your alright with violating the constitution with gun restrictions you have no real problems with searching my home. Stop lying and say it. This wording in this bill was no mistake.
That would assume they have any idea who owns these mystical weapons.
There is no registration in WA, and I wouldn’t imagine much compliance, if instituted.
It also assumes the courts will agree that ownership justifies “probable cause” for some unwarranted search, with unspecified objectives.
By what authority could the police “inspect” a law-abiding citizen’s house? Law or no law, allowing this would be tantamount to bowing to the masters like good slaves.
This story was posted yesterday, and I made the comment then that the home inspection language is also in the Minnesota House language of HF241. It’s pretty safe to say that the gun control effort seems to be orchestrated at a national level.
These legislators in WA just used language developed (or pushed) by someone else, and made the mistake of not reading it before they signed on to be an author of it. Stupid, however, I believe that if they thought they could get away with it, they would definitely have included the home inspection language in the bill, anyways.
Since they are talking about guns, the first thing they have to do is define assault rifles.
Anything can be used as an assault weapon.

If you think this is just about guns, think again. Once guns are gone there is nothing left to oppose total government control. The “fear of guns” is clearly being used to overturn the freedoms granted in the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Once something like this passes in one state, it will quickly move to all, perhaps aided by another erroneous interpretation of the commerce clause. Stand up now or forfeit your rights - your choice.
