He was absolutely right.
But even today, HS/College Professors will scoff, mock, or laugh off the notion that JM was anything other than a paranoid kook.
Not too much different than what the GOPe does to block the real conservatives from making any headway, come to think of it.
That is one of the good things William F. Buckley dud, He always stood up for McCarthy and noted what his enemies were doing. I have one of Buckley’s semi novel titled: Red Hunter.
It is well worth the read.
Oh my, somebody is finally realizing this. He lived 60 years before his time. When the media is completely compromised the nation is in dire jeopardy.
He was right!
When I was growing up in those times, it was an accepted truism that McCarthy was an evil person responsible for throwing innocent people in prison and ruining careers (and lives) of equally innocent people. Voices calling McCarthy and his crusade good were few and far between. I read Evans's book (Blacklisted By History) and urge everyone else to read it. McCarthy wasn't perfect, and he sometimes went off in the wrong direction. But the evil he was trying uncover (communist subversion) was real, and he kicked many of them out of the government. For that he deserves praise, not condemnation.
