In much of the Middle East and Asia, there is a long tradition of “rent-a-mobs”, with a sliding scale of how much violence is being paid for. But “the local tyrant” just tells his secret police to turn out a crowd for the same purpose, threatening to rough them up if they are not enthusiastic enough.

These concepts are obviously now embraced by the US far left.

Exactly, you can’t feed a family on that amount.

I hope they report this income to their local welfare office. Otherwise, it's theft of services. The amount paid has to be deducted from their EBT card. It's income. They're getting paid, so they're considered "employed."
I hope someone follows up on this.

unionize astroturf groups!

They are unionized...SEIU and AFL + teachers and Government employees. This attack on gun rights will go on until we are out of ammunition or out of targets. Bet on it!

Yet the uninformed American people still do business with them. Personally, I avoid them all like a plague. NEVER will I buy a union made auto, or go to a place I know has SEIU labor if I can avoid it. I prefer not to support them.
Yes, we home schooled, too. Our kids were not subjected to the teachers union.
