Living in the Southwest for most of my life, Ive seen just how many people go to Colorado to hunt, fish, ski, hike, camp and sight see. Combined together, these activities generate millions of dollars for businesses as well as the state government.
Yet, the controlling Democrats are willing to lose a large portion of that revenue and place many businesses in jeopardy, just to push Obamas anti-gun policies. A couple of major businesses are already looking to relocate out of the state because of the recently passed and newly proposed anti-gun laws.
Now, the Outdoor Channel, a very popular cable network for hunters, fishermen and outdoors type people, has notified the Colorado Senate Republican Caucus that they are prepared to pull all of their productions out of the state if the anti-gun laws are passed. Currently, the Outdoor Channel has four cable program series being produced in Colorado, including their most popular program Gun Stories.
Michael Bane, executive producer and host of Outdoor Channel, sent an email to State Sen. Steve King (R-Grand Junction) stating in part:...

Good save.
If all 2nd Amendment supporters blacklist and boycott CO because of the gun control laws it might get the legislatures attention.
I hope you are correct they should get that attention like a two by four across some portion of their anatomy.
On the other hand I don’t think they will care. This legislation fits their agenda and their core values. It’s ALL about control.
Progrssives could care less about this. They are willing to throw out the baby with the bath water. Financial hits to the state is collateral damage to them. They are willing to suffer financially in order to keep the socialist dream alive.
NM is still open carry.
So... Outdoor Channel has come out and refuted this, claiming it is only a single, independent executive producer:

Just one minor point, it isn’t queer marriage. The voters banned same-sex marriage in 2006, constitutional amendment. But, this week civil unions were signed into law, not marriage.
Wow. Didn’t know that. I thought something had been passed severely penalizing getting pulled over with guns in the car, or something like that... Perhaps I remember poorly...
Colorado is also open carry, outside of Denver or businesses that post “No Firearms.”
I also remember growing up with guns openly displayed in NM. Do you remember pickup seat covers with a rifle holder built into them?
Yep. Had one... Couldn't get a back window rack to stay in my truck, so I used the seat cover one... Was also handy for bow/arrows in bow season.
No tourism means, for the most part, no revenues except the gigantic flow of federal revenues (pork). There’s nearly no production of anything useful (zoning laws against even tiny manufacturing shops in the middle of nowhere, radical environmentalist planning regulations against building on private properties, extreme building codes, animal worship, etc., all maintained by both political parties). Top that off with fire bans that make crimes of cooking out on barbeque grills and recreational firing of firearms.
