I think the chance of some kind of conflict is high. I think some people want it.

But, I don't really picture anything really huge. That being said, one should be aware of 1914:

Little Serbia angered Austria.
Germany came in the help Austria.
Russia came in the help Serbia.
France came in to help Russia.
Germany invaded Belgium to get into France.
Britain came in the help Belgium.

North Korea? Russia? China? Iran? Syria? How big of a house of cards are we talking about? The world is something like $200T in debt. Sweeping all the playing pieces off the table would serve some people pretty well, I think.
