It was an accident, the girl with Downs Syndrome brought it to school and dropped it and it accidentally went off.
The episode was really good. Heather Morris and Chord Overstreet were great. In that part of the episode, there was no music to set the atmosphere or anything, just the ticking of a metronome. I liked it.

Did the show make a rational conclusion that if a Admin. was packing, the students/teachers would have at least a fighting chance instead of peeing in their pants?

Seems like it was a twofer, how easy a Down Syndrome could get their hands on a gun and the fact it was a Downs Syndrome individual scaring the crap out of everybody.

I was surprised I liked the writing as well. Good Pro 2nd Amend. points were made with little or no bias - something I thought I’d never see on the show. I also agree that Heather and Chord were great. (Did you know that she was pregnant in real life?)
