“Here are some of the comments from today’s objective “journalists.” Huffington Post blogger and Al Sharpton radio producer Nida Khan speculated on Twitter that an anti-government group may be responsible for the deadly bombings: “We don’t know anything yet of course, but it is tax day & my first thought was all these anti-gov groups, but who knows.”

Nicholas Kristof of the New York Times quickly blamed the explosions on the Republican Party because it has held up the appointment of an ATF director. He later deleted the tweet.

It’s as if every liberal writer, reporter, and columnist were following the same narrative, like the overused comedic gravitas meme that commentators passed around when Cheney was chosen by Bush for the vice-president’s job and the description of Mario Cuomo’s speech at the 1984 Democratic National Convention.

The following is from Charles Pierce at “The Politics Blog” at Esquire:

“Obviously, nobody knows anything yet, but I would caution folks jumping to conclusions about foreign terrorism to remember that this is the official Patriots Day holiday in Massachusetts, celebrating the Battles at Lexington and Concord, and that the actual date (April 19) was of some significance to, among other people, Tim McVeigh, because he fancied himself a waterer of the tree of liberty and the like.”
