True, and there are a lot of second-generation Indian and Ethiopian students who have no religious agenda at all.

The Che shirt could mean anything from the kid is a leftist to “this is edgy and cool in college so I’ll use it to start conversations with nerdy chicks.”

We’ll know a ton more in the next few days. The answers may surprise everyone.

Living in India, and working at a university here, I see a lot of kids wearing Che shirts. I guarantee that almost none of them have any idea who he is beyond “rebel”. Now, Sunil lived in PA, and seems to have been there a while, but I suspect that his exposure to Che’s real beliefs and activities is still more sparse than the average US kid’s knowledge, which is almost nonexistent.
