I asked that question on another thread. Has martial law been declared? Has the Constitution been suspended? If the search for a murderer justifies entry and search without warrant, then the police will be able to make that claim whenever they wish to enter someone’s home. “I’m sorry sir but we have reason to believe that a murderer may have passed through your neighbourhood. Please lie on the floor with your hands behind your head until we are able to confirm that your house is secure. Have a nice day.” The same people who tell us that unlawful combatants detained in a foreign country are entitled to the full protection of the US Constitution, are ok with the police arbitrarily suspending the rights of Americans on US soil on the basis of “necessity”.
