I don’t see anything dishonest there — it’s quite straightforward at showing he he believes his law career can be shown a support for the military, and makes no claims as to any military experience.

I guess the objection would the use of the military plane in the ad? I don’t see that as dishonest, but YMMV.

Doesn’t matter one whit. The Supreme Court has already ruled it is ok for politicians to lie about military service. Ask the people at Stolen Honor how that works.
