Parents Need to Demand that Congress Enact Gun Reform

That would be unconstitutional. It isn't within the Congress' enumerated powers to buy guns and ammo for my kids...

My eyes burned from his pants being on fire.
This parent and grandparent demands that congress uphold the Second Amendment.

As grandpappy use to say, "Demand in one hand. S**t in the other. Then see which one fills up the fastest.

And more gun control would have done what to prevent ANY of these incidents?

Yep, that’s what I thought.

Is the article serious? Our nation will recover fine and dandy from a bombing? Applying that logic, we will recover from another school shooting...

Let's be honest. As a conservative and a parent, I can agree that US gun laws should be reformed.

We should start, for instance, be repealing the 1986 restrictions on the ownership of automatic weapons.

...would have at least been a step toward more comprehensive gun reform.

Well, Brian, buddy, that's sort of the problem, isn't it? Because what you mean by "comprehensive gun reform" is exactly the consideration, and the reason your precious bill failed is that people don't really want to take that step, especially since they don't know where it's going because you aren't telling them.

How about a moratorium? I don't mean a moratorium on gun sales, I mean a moratorium on hyperemotional shrieking that serves to disguise an oppressive, totalitarian agenda? Could we do that, please? No? Didn't think so.

I agree, Congress should enact gun reform! They should remove all restrictions from law abiding Americans.

I'm a parent and I demand that gun-grabbers STFU.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

What part of "shall not be infringed" is not clear.

I’m waiting for the first Democratic pol to suggest that murders committed with guns be made a federal crime as well, with a mandatory death penalty attached.

Yes, parents... press hard for gun control, because guns are the cause of all ills in America. If guns were forevermore out of the hands of ordinary citizens and only in the hands of the police and military, the country would overflow with boundless happiness and peace. To wit:

1. Gun control would’ve prevented the bombings in Boston.
2. Gun control would’ve prevented those ricin-laced letters.
3. Gun control would’ve stopped Kermit Gosnell from murdering untold numbers of full-term infants.
4. Gun control would bring Kim Jong-il to heel.
5. Gun control would’ve stopped the attacks on 9/11.
6. Gun control would’ve stopped the shoe bomber.
7. Gun control has been so effective in making Chicago the utopian, peaceful little island of stability that it is.

They haven’t let off gun control for one fraking minute! This is why the next election will be a slaughterhouse for liberal politicians. They just do not learn. They live in a giant circle jerk throwing out 90% numbers thinking yahoo, we finally have enough blood to bath in to destroy our enemies!

Unbeknownst to them, the mountain of pissed off Americans that brought about the sea change in 94 has re awoken and we are filled with a terrible resolve.

This parent teaches kids how to handle a gun.

And - looking back to days at the grandparents house (on a farm) that had a “pantry-O-guns”, never locked...with multitudinous (love that word) children around...and never a shooting incident.

Why? We actually were taught well.

Unlike liberal children.

So, standard phrase, “Shove it up your smelly Obama, liberals.”
