I read Born Fighting last year and thought it was a great book. And with every chapter I read, I scratched my head and asked “How could this guy be a Democrat?” Was he lying when he wrote it or is he lying now?

My exact thoughts. Whatever anyone thinks of his politics, he sure can write. I hope he authors something else.

I liked the information in the book but he is way too wordy.
I tired of what seemed to me self-aggrandizement. Then there is the disconnect of him being “conservative” and Democrat. A true fighting Scots-Irish has to see the truth and not blindly fight. Gave the book to a Democrat brother who also is contradictory as a new small business owner. I think he may be seeing the light but too bad his kids were raised to be liberal.
