A 20,000 man division is being armed every 10 hours.
A full 200,000 man army is being armed every 4 days.
At its peak in 1945, the U.S. Army had 8.2 million men. To arm all of them at the current rate of retail gun sales, it would take less than 6 months.
We are now entering year 5.
If they could find the manpower and if Congress would approve the Trillions of dollars to fund the confiscation teams (not accounting for any resistance at all) it would take several centuries to get ahead of new purchases and start reducing the number of arms owned.
