Political oratory is a dying art form that few are good at and even fewer master. But since her arrival on the national stage in 2008, Sarah Palin has proven to be a practitioner of a very special brand of oratory that has its roots in the plain speaking prairie populists of the late 19th and early 20th century. Fighting established interests, damning the elites who they felt were responsible for the terrible rural poverty of the time, prairie populism swept through the heartland, roiling politics and giving a sense of empowerment to people as they battled the east coast bankers and monopolies.
Palin, who gave a rousing, enthusiastically received speech at the NRA convention in Houston yesterday, has what all good orators have; the ability to capture the moment. There are several elements that make a good orator but one of them is being blessed with the gift of being able to connect in a visceral way with their audience. Palin captures the moment by capturing her audience, speaking to them on a plane that other politicians cant reach. She holds them in the palm of her hand so that they feel one with her a bond she obviously shares.
Liberals complain she feeds the resentments and petty biases of her audience. But they miss the point. Palin articulates what ails America largely because all other politicians tip-toe around what the American people are truly concerned about. And she does it in a way that everyone can understand and feel at a gut level.
Republicans have been complaining about President Obama and the Democrats using the Newtown tragedy in a shameless, exploitative way to serve their gun control agenda. But Palin took a different tack:

YES! For many reasons, Palin is no longer viable as a Presidential candidate. Unfortunate, but that's reality. But I'd LOVE to see a Senator Palin.
Let's look @ the differences and they possible "why's"shall we....
Sarah Runs, Hillary ? What Exercise Program...
* Sarah's protein is mostly organic game from Alaska, Hillary, State diners with mega calories.
* Another speculation on my part? Most gorgeous women I know drink plenty of water and get plenty of rest. Hard to do that fitting around putting out fires after the Arab Spring that went oh so well now didn't Hillary....
* Sarah probably reads the Bible and Prays everyday. Hillary? She wants people to worship her....
And that is just for starters and I am not properly caffinated this a.m. :-)...
No she can’t. She’s our version of Howard Dean. The exception is Dean realized his 15 minutes were over and he got a job out of the limelight and Palin is running to anyone who will listen to her. She needs to go away.
I’m sticking with Palin, Cruz and the tea party.
The rest of the Rove/Romney/Bush/GOP-E beltway scumbags can go burn in hell.
Foolishness! Wherever Sarah goes, people wants to see and hear from her. They had an overflowing crowd last year and this year at CPAC to hear Sarah speak! Dean can only get about 10 people to see him and most of that comes from his family. You go away with your beloved Jeb Bush and Rubio
Go to the DUmp where you belong. Cruz stated that without Palin's support, he would not be in the Senate. I guess that upsets you.
Palin is one of the strongest Conservative voices on the scene.
Is Statist Karl and Statist Bush your choice?
Have you ever been talking on your cell and a hot woman walks by for a moment you forget what you were saying. How many guys have thought "She is so far out of my league..."
I am usually saying, You will not believe how fine this women is that just walked by me... ;-)
* Sarah Palin runs half-marathons while Hillary runs her mouth.
Since you chose to inject that I wonder if you know why she left her term as governor?
She had accomplished EVERYTHING she said were her objectives when she was running, and the Democraps were trying to bankrupt her with lawsuits.
The only way to stop it and survive financially was NOT as governor. So, very much like George Washington, she GAVE UP POWER instead of craving more.
Now what is your problem with that?
That photo gives me a woodie
