Is there any way to get visitor records to determine if Reggie was at the White House that night? Or even an indication of how many visits Reggie has made to the White House? Or perhaps Reggie now has accommodations set up in some secret chamber of the White House??
During the campaign, Reggie and Barry apparently continued to hook up on the road and on the sly until after the election, when Reggie reappeared in DC, where he resumed a lower, profile, non-WH-resident role. For instance, he accompanied Barry on the "Tiger Woods Adventure," and he is Barry's constant companion in DC and on the road. Discrete they ain't.
I would imagine that official "Visitor Logs" and "Guest Lists" are sanitized. It is still a mystery as to whether or not Reggie is on the payroll, as he definitely was as a WH aide in '09, '10, '11, and '12. How his presence is accounted for is something into which only a few of us actually inquire.
For some 18 months, Reggie and our POTUS spent those days in the White House when he and the POTUS were not "on vacation" locked away in a "den" into which eventually only Valerie Jarrett had constant access, bringing memos, snacks, drinks, and teleprompter scripts. In the "den" are 6 large flat screens tuned to various ESPN channels. They usually only left to "shoot hoops" in the WH gym, when the POTUS had meetings, or to travel together.
It is during this strange interlude when the Michelle and the girls began their "separate vacations" routine.
Barack and Reggie? Think of J. Edgar and Clyde. They are practicing "Don't ask; don't tell," and so is everyone else.
