Only if they gave me one for free. I’d still be ashamed to drive it.

I’ll promise to tell all my friends how great it is if they give me one for free. It will have to be worth something someday. I mean, it worked with Edsels.

The good news is that if you buy a Chevy Volt you also have a portable barbecue grill!

Here's the problem: clean diesel engines. Now that Europe requires the stringent Euro6 emissions certification for new automobile diesel engines, that means it's very easy to certify that same engine to meet the EPA Tier 2 Bin 5 certification needed for 50-state US sale. Why do you think Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen are all expanding their lineup of diesel-powered automobiles for the US market? And why GM will offer a turbodiesel engine on the Chevrolet Cruze compact sedan?

Only if they gave me one for free. Id still be ashamed to drive it.The morons putting all this propaganda together must think so too.
The article is rife with numbers thrown around willy-nilly, but nowhere a clue about the actual selling price of the beasts. Nor the cost of installing a (safe) home charging station for it.
The ultimate irony : the people who can actually afford to buy one DON'T NEED ANY SUBSIDIES WHATSOEVER!

Well, I cannot say how all the incentives work out, but their sale price on Volts is still mid 30s. That’s around $35,000 for one of the things.
They are rated at 38 MPG.
Heck, a 2013 Honda Civic LX gets 39 highway MPG and costs $20K.
A 2013 Honda Civic Hybrid gets 44 MPG and costs $25K, ten thousand less than the Chevy VOLT and without all the incentives.
Sorry Government Motors...no dice.

Naw. Spend all you want. They’ll print more.
I don’t even see money as money any more. It’s just a temporary stop gap measure of value based on faith that is about to evaporate, followed by hyperinflation, followed by stuff that will leave a mark.
It’s just kinda funny to me now in a sort of “black humor” way.

Sadly, an increased economic incentive to buy a 3,000 pound turd is still a FAIL.

I’d keep it next to my garbage burning barrel. Just in case...

Yep, the clean diesel powered cars are coming to the USA.
Better performance and significantly better mileage that will satisfy the more stringent CAFE standards coming up.

I actually saw my first Volt over the weekend....but as 0bamao and the chinamen were here in our desert, it probably was a government vehicle.
