The Post's landmark building is worth a lot, and a lot more if it can be developed ( i.e torn down) The long-time owners couldn't do that..but new ownership will do so easily, and rapidly....I suspect that Bezos ends up getting the paper for about the price of a year's subscription..

One report I read said that sale did not include the WaPo building and that it has been up for sale since February, without a buyer so far.

I’ll have to check that...if it didn’t include the building, then I bet Bezos demanded a 10 year lease for $1/month..
