I think not. Russia's opposition to homosexuality may be primarily due to the low birth rate, which atheism will not help, while Putin may have realized that since fighting religion did not work, now he will use it to achieve his agenda of power. And the religion he supports is not Christian faith in general, but the Russian Orthodox, which supports persecution of Protestant faith.

Still, it is a paradox that Russia is reproving America for upholding some Christian values America is at war against.

Leftism's rise and fall is driven by population density. Their population density has fallen to the point that conservatives are now the majority.
