US Frustrated by Russian Efforts to ‘Block’ Syria Action at UN

WASHINGTON, August 29 (RIA Novosti) – An urgent meeting of the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council – reportedly called by Russia – ended in less than an hour on Thursday without any indication of progress or agreement on the crisis in Syria following last week’s alleged chemical weapons attack, US media reported.

It was the second time in two days that the five permanent Security Council members – the United States, Russia, Britain, France and China – came out of a meeting with no apparent progress.

Russia, which on Wednesday blocked a British resolution seeking the authorization of military force, says there is no evidence that the government of Syrian President Bashar Assad was responsible for the chemical weapons attack. The US and its allies say they are convinced that the Assad regime was behind the attack.

Why doesn’t Obama just “press the re-set button” again?

I don’t feel frustrated all as well. Should we conduct a poll to see how many Americans feel the same as Obama?

So, our esteemed WashDC leaders are surprised/disappointed Russia didn’t just LEAP at the opportunity to endorse an American invasion of Syria (where an estimated 60 to 80,000 Russians live, and where Russia has its Mediterranean warm water port, and where Russia sells billions of dollars of weapons and other stuff each year). Surprise, surprise, surprise!

But no doubt WashDC will just ‘hit the reset button’ again with Russia and...make everything just SWELL!

Maybe Vince McMahan could arrange a ‘steel cage match’, with the usual rules.

doesn’t Iran/Syria have a NATO like alliance? An attack on Syria is an attack on Iran

This is insane. A military strike based on no evidence, an incident that does not involve us in any way somehow makes us get involved?

And we are going to go into alone.

Just craziness.

Agreed.

I never thought I would live to see the day when my country became a predator nation.

Elections have consequences.

Yep, there is some larger international political reason for it - otherwise we should be bombing North Korea and about 90% of the African nations.

I consider it amusing as well. For a moment I actually thought he was gonna jump in the Syrian War and get a serious butt whipping. But just wait, on Monday he will find some lame excuse for not getting into Syria, probably blame Bush, and low info. voters will continue to worship him.

Obama vs. Putin Chess Match

One problem...Putin is playing chess, Obama is playing checkers.

Also Putin is not an affirmative action figurehead backed by a unified press, voter fraud, and wealthy backers.
