I bought one new in 1966. A 1965 model, that is. It used a lot of gas but it didn’t matter much then. Good video; good story.
The best cars I’ve owned were gas hogs. Had a 68 Charger which used twice as much gas as the Vega my Dad made the mistake of buying. That Vega was such an unreliable a** bucket, my Charger was actually cheaper to drive. That old 318 and Torqueflite trans were virtually indestructible.
