Note how the U. S. economy fared “under Clinton,” because of Speaker Newt Gingrich and Republican control of the House of Reps, compelling Clinton, contrary to his natural inclinations, to accept a balanced budget and welfare reform, for which positive results Clinton has ever since been given full credit.

Also, he didn't have to budget for the Cold War which ended before he took office, he inherited an economy that was growing for a year and nine months, and he had the tech boom and the tax paying jobs it created to boost his job numbers and revenue. None of which had anything to do with anything he did, but he was in office (thanks to the third party vote), so he got the credit.

Oh, and in spite of numerous AQ attacks on his watch, he effectively punted the WOT and its expense to the next administration.
