That really sucks. It sounds like you just need is a catastrophic policy which they conveniently implemented. Not to get off topic but why the hell would they outlaw such plans? I am a bit dense I guess and I just don’t get it.

Might be a moot point anyway. Over time I don’t see any of these healthcare providers surviving. It eventually folds into some single payer “wait in line” crap. I dont see them killing obamacare but rather morphing it into something even worse. There are just too few Cruz types to prevent it. We’re all so screwed.

Catastrophic care policies were what most young people get. It covers you only if you actually go into the hospital for something major. They did away with them because they need the young, healthy people to finance the people who are already sick. One thousand a year simply won’t do that. They need everybody spending 10 to 20 times that.

Because if they don't gouge the young and healthy, the numbers don't work out. Actually the young (under 30) can still get catastrophic coverage, but it isn't subsidized.
